Troop 889 BSA

Five members of Troop 889 provided a color guard for the opening ceremony of the FIRST LEGO® League competition sponsored by the The North Side Robotics Club at The Woodlands College Park High School on Saturday November 21, 2009.  Under the leadership of Eric Menees, Life Scout, Grant Kern, Marcus Sloan, Connor Buffington and Cary Ulrich proudly presented the colors and led large audience of young robotics competitors and families in the Pledge of Allegience, followed by a rousing rendition of the National Anthem.

"I can't thank you and your troop enough for conducting the opening ceremony at the tournament. The scouts conducted themselves flawlessly and made it appear so effortless. I know you had to be proud as I certainly found myself with a lump in my throat! With so many robotics teams visiting from out of town, please let the kids know that they brought great honor to themselves and the community as a whole. I really appreciate their participation!!!"
