After arriving at the park at Carriage Hills, some of the troop guides helped our new scouts with some of their requirements while some scouts played baseball. Our new scout patrol decided on their patrol name…The Fire-Breathing Wolves! And they also came up with a very cool patrol yell. Later in the day, everyone swam in the creek. Everyone had a lot of fun.
After cooking dinner, some parents arrived to watch the Crossover ceremony. During this ceremony, the new scouts were given their arrows and “crossed-over” from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
After the ceremony, the scouts played manhunt for a longtime, and then it was lights out.
In the morning, we had a Court of Honor ceremony, which was attended by a lot of family members. Many scouts received ranks and merit badges and special awards.
We also recognized Scoutmaster Mr. Smith, who is stepping down from his position. We will miss him. He has taught us a lot.
We welcomed our new Scoutmaster, Mr. Yagley, who has been an Assistant Scoutmaster in our troop. |
